Three Hundred Laps in Aid of ACE!

Over the years, out of the blue, we have been contacted by people who have read about Arise School on our ACE website, acecharity.uk and want to do something to help make a difference at the school.

Just a couple of weeks ago, we received an email from Chelsea’s Dad.  They had been looking together at the website and Chelsea, aged just 7 years old, decided she wanted to do something to raise money for Arise.  A keen roller skater, she set herself an amazing challenge – a RollerSkateAthon!  Last Sunday, Chelsea successfully completed her challenge by skating 300 laps of her local rink!

It was  a tremendous effort which raised a brilliant £332.50 for ACE.  As part of our aim of supporting Arise to become self sustaining, this money will go towards Arise sponsoring another child in the local community who would otherwise not have the opportunity of an education.

We put together a certificate for Chelsea to thank her for her efforts which she took into school.  We were delighted to hear that, on the back of it, her school recognised her achievement by awarding her “Star of the Week”.

At this difficult time, when Coronavirus is affecting the lives of so many children and their families throughout the world, especially those living in the sort of poverty that so many of the Arise children know firsthand, it is both uplifting and motivating to know that there are children like Chelsea, who want to make such a real difference to the lives of other children.

We understand that Chelsea is already thinking about her next challenge for ACE.  From all the pupils and staff at Arise , a huge “Asante Sana” (Thank You), Chelsea.  You are a real star!
